Refined sketch to final logo
To convey the image of reliable and yet upscale dining, the logo was primarily type-based. An icon was not the thing to represent Carbonella’s, so the sketches played with typographic color. The sketch was eventually finalized into the logo you see on the right, polished and custom, to breath new life into the Carbonella’s brand.
TYPOGRAPHY
Glass Antiqua was used to match the style of the logo sketch, hand-manipulated into the custom type treatment seen in the existing logo. To ground the logo, Cascadia Mono was used for its blocky shape. Lora, a sleek serif, maintained legibility with its higher x-height while Pauline Script brought an air of elegance to the menu and business cards.
