The concept of minimalism was to be translated as a sans serif type. The logo is also intentionally lowercase to represent this idea. Typefaces with a low x-height were considered, as well as having a vertical placement to reduce the amount of occupied space. One serif lockup is presented, but the unanimous decision was that sans serif suited the concept more accurately.

TYPOGRAPHY
Initially, Minion was going to be used more than Gill Sans, but it made the magazine’s image not fit the target market. Most of the accent elements were made into Gill Sans to update the look. Minion was chosen for its line height and overall easy readability.
